This is the first ever time Jeep’s compact SUV, the
Compass facelift has been spied completely undisguised.
While it loses its anonymous front fascia of the outgoing model, the 2012
Compass will make use of the all-new 2011
Grand Cherokee.
Slatted 7-slot chrome grille, cleaner bonnet, and square off headlamps, will feature. The side profile will remain the same but the rear will be tweaked. The rear lights will be curvier and cleaner than the current model and the rear bumper sport rear fog lamps and reflectors.
Inside, the
Compass will use better interior materials and the layout will be similar to that of the new
Grand Cherokee. As far as we know, engines and gearboxes will stay the same but will be improved to boast better fuel economy.
In certain European markets, like the UK, Germany and Czech Republic, the
Compass was killed off because the
Patriot outsold it. Those markets where the
Compass is still available, the updated vehicle will arrive late 2011 with a Mercedes-sourced 2.2 CRD.
